A popular retailer of beauty and personal care products is set to open next week at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township.
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, selling bath bombs, body lotions, makeup and more, is set to open Monday in a lower level space near Starbucks, according to a news release. The space previously housed bareMinerals.
Customers will be able to shop a wide array of beauty and personal care products, including bath oils, body scrubs, shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, lip balms, deodorants and perfumes.
The concept shop also will feature large skincare and haircare areas, where customers will be able to enjoy personalized consultation.
Lush, with more than 260 shops across North America, was founded by Mark Wolverton and Karen Delaney-Wolverton, who opened their first location in 1996 in Vancouver, Canada.
Products are made from fresh organic fruit and vegetables, essential oils and safe synthetics, according to the website. They also are made by hand using little or no packaging and only vegetarian ingredients.
“We are so excited to open the doors to a brand new store in Pennsylvania,” Elisa Torres, Lush’s director of retail, said in the release. “While the road to normality is bound to
be a little uncertain as the world changes around us, we’re committed to safely and consciously starting afresh together, and look forward to welcoming the people of Lehigh Valley with open arms.”
Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Lush is taking a “people-first phased approach” to its opening strategy, with the health and wellbeing of Lush staff, customers and community remaining top priority, according to the release.
While customers can expect the same highly personalized service Lush is known for, the in-store experience will look just a little different in order to maintain everybody’s comfort and safety.
Opening at reduced capacity, customers have two options to shop: placing an order online and picking up in-store; or shopping in-store, which will be operating at limited capacity and observing social distancing regulations. Store hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Some other health and safety protocols being implemented across Lush stores include mandatory masks for customers and staff, contactless payment only, regular sanitization of surfaces and compulsory hand washing before staff assist different customers.
Taking inspiration from Lush’s giant flagship location on Oxford Street in London and designed with the customer experience in mind, the Lehigh Valley Mall shop is outfitted almost entirely with reclaimed wood, ethically sourced in the Pacific Northwest.
The shop’s walls, fittings and shelving were all once barns or industrial buildings, cutting back on Lush’s environmental footprint, a value important to the eco-conscious brand.
